Lone Star is an unincorporated community in Calhoun County, South Carolina. It's known for being a cotton and timber shipping point. Originally the town was called Auburn, however it was soon changed to Lone Star which was the name of one of the local stores.

Today, Lone Star retains much of its rural charm, reflecting the slow passage of time in a region steeped in Southern heritage. A peaceful corner of history and a great spot to photograph.
