40/40 Club

As my time in the urbex community progresses, so do the friendships I make along the way. One of the most special being a fellow explorer, commonly known as Backroads2Abandoned. Her and I have formed a bond through exploring that words cannot describe but to say she is my favorite person to explore with would be an understatement. With all of that said, her and I have made a routine of having a very organized route of explores mapped out when we venture out together.. but every once in a while, we catch ourselves stopping when something catches our eye.. this club was one of those times. The only info I have on it based on a light google search is that the business license for it was established in 2009, based on the images on google maps, it looks as though it has been abandoned for nearly just as long.. in any case it doesn't appear this club was open for long, at least not under the current name it's decorated with. The 40/40 club was quite a surprise, not only because it was a drive-by explore but while hitting a u-turn to make our way back toward this spot, Backroads and I were discussing how we both wanted to happen upon a strip club one day.. so you can imagine the way our excitement peaked when we entered what was in fact once, a strip club. I've had these moments many times now while exploring and I must say, the manifestation, the serendipity.. whatever you want to call it, just reminds me how truly at home I am exploring the unknown and how the universe always rewards me with many reminders.. from perfectly timed places to perfectly aligned friendships.. I know I am walking not just toward, but with.. my purpose. Funny how an old abandoned strip club can make you feel so much more than you ever imagined..
